Our anesthesiologists are trained in comprehensive services for chronic, acute and end-stage pain. Pain management is provided for cancer palliation, post-operative pain, chronic back pain, headaches and facial pain, neuralgia and other chronic pain problems. We focus on easing pain, reducing pain-related disability, and improving quality of life using a variety of therapies and services.
The Pain Management Center evaluates and treats chronic pain - severe pain that has proven unresponsive to conservative therapy.

Following patient evaluation, a multimodality treatment plan is developed to provide therapy for the central and peripheral components of a patient's particular pain syndrome. Often, more than one of the following treatment strategies must be used simultaneously:

To eliminate the source of pain, if possible, or to reduce it to a tolerable level.
To help eliminate depression.
To eliminate drug dependency.
To educate the patient about chronic pain.
To aid the patient in functioning within pain limits.
To help return the patient to gainful employment and a fulfilling life.
