Barton Oncology's care team understands your cancer experience is unique. We are dedicated to treating the whole person in a healing environment that is close to your home in South Lake Tahoe. Our medical oncology team provides support and education to you and your family during your cancer treatment and survivorship. We currently offer lab work, radiographic tests, telemedicine visits, diagnostics, and infusion services.

- Janet Goodall, FNP, PA and the oncology staff see patients in Barton Oncology's South Lake Tahoe location, and telemedicine visits are available with Melissa Kaime, MD, FACP, Ahrin Koppel, MD and Thomas Semrad, MD, MAS, FACP at the Gene Upshaw Cancer Center in Truckee.
- Zachary Child, MD, specializes in musculoskeletal oncology, a medical specialty for diagnosis, staging and treatment of benign and malignant masses in the bones, muscles and soft tissues including complex cases of cancer (Sarcoma). Local Tahoe-based services available include adult and pediatric bone tumors, soft tissue sarcoma, benign tumors of bone and soft tissue, metastatic disease, and complex infection. Barton Oncology has proudly partnered with UC Davis Health to provide cutting-edge care in the fight against cancer. As part of the UC Davis Cancer Care Network, patients at Barton Health have access to advanced cancer care provided by leading academic specialists at the National Cancer Institute-designated UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center with the consistently exceptional care they have come to know and expect at Barton Health.
The UC Davis Cancer Care Network virtual tumor boards bring together cancer experts from throughout the network to discuss patient cases to arrive at precise diagnoses and optimal treatment approaches. Virtual tumor boards utilize videoconferencing (telemedicine) capabilities to link UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center and other network experts with Barton Health physicians. Patients who need specialized care or a second opinion for more complex diagnoses can be referred to a specialist without delay.

Barton Oncology has partnered with the Gene Upshaw Memorial Tahoe Forest Cancer Center, an affiliate of the UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center, to expand oncology services for cancer patients who reside in the Tahoe basin. Using advanced technology through Barton’s Telehealth for Tahoe Program, cancer patients undergoing treatment at Gene Upshaw Memorial Tahoe Forest Cancer Center can meet with their physicians via real-time video conferencing at Barton Oncology, allowing the patient to stay close to home.
